PRIDE

Melbourne University Women’s Football Club (MUWFC) has a proud history and culture of LGBTIQ+ inclusion and celebrates the diversity of our players, coaches, volunteers and members both past and present.

We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all people to participate in Australian rules football and we stand in solidarity against discrimination of transgender and gender diverse people, as members and allies of the LGBTIQ+ community.

First Nations Education, Celebration and Action Plan

Melbourne University Women’s Football Club acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which our club is located , and where we train and play our games - The Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past, present and emerging.

MUWFC is committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society. We have just launched our MUWFC First Nations Education, Celebration and Action Plan. Please read below for more info.

Sustainability

At MUWFC, we recognise the significance of the climate emergency facing our planet. As such, we pledge to embed environmental sustainability into the ongoing management of our club. We recognise that we all have a part to play in ensuring the protection of our environment for the benefit of all current and future generations.

We aim to reduce our contribution to climate change and to actively protect and conserve our natural environment. We intend to collaborate with the University of Melbourne & City of Melbourne to ensure our facilities are energy efficient, and we reduce water consumption and minimise waste.

MUWFC is committed to advocating for environmental issues and investing in the environmental education of the club and its community through the deliverables of our Environmental Sustainability Plan.
