Club Song
- THE MUGARS ROAR -
(Sung to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic)
Hear the crowd a-roaring for the mighty team of MUGARS
We came to show you how to play and now you're really buggered
So lift your hearty voices up and sing our song or hum it
WE'RE BLACK, WE'RE BLUE,
WE'RE THE MU-UGARS
Glory, Glory, what a hell of a game we played
Glory, Glory, there is history being made
Glory, Glory, Melbourne Uni is our name
WE'RE BLACK, WE'RE BLUE,
WE'RE THE MU-UGARS
When other sides are caving in, we'll be standing strong
When older legs are slowing down, we'll be running on
So lift your hearty voices up and sing our song or hum it
WE'RE BLACK, WE'RE BLUE,
WE'RE THE MU-UGARS
Glory, Glory, what a hell of a game we played
Glory, Glory, there is history being made
Glory, Glory, Melbourne Uni is our name
WE'RE BLACK, WE'RE BLUE,
WE'RE THE MU-UGARS

It is only thanks to the tireless work of volunteers that MUWFC can continue to lead the way in women's football. The Mary Chenacci Best Club Person award recognises these people. Mary was the first president of MUWFC (1997-1998) and the award aims to recognise an individual who captures the same selfless, club-orientated qualities Mary displayed in the formative years of the Club. 2000 Bronwyn McGorlick 2001 Natalie Wood 2002 Chyloe Kurdas 2003 Bianca Sharp 2004 John Stewart 2005 Jess Egan 2006 Bronwyn Richardson 2007 Joanne Silcock 2008 Adam Rieusset 2009 Charmaine Calleja, Jess Egan 2010 Erika Henwood 2011 Kristy Dea 2012 Laura J Kelly 2013 Bronwyn McGorlick 2014 Aaron King 2015 Jessica Fewster 2016 Steph Kierce 2017 Emma Kearney 2018 Maddie Sheedy 2019 Marinella Salafia 2020 (No season - COVID-19) 2021 Vanessa Lewicki 2022 Terri O'Reilly 2023 Maddy Noack 2024 Fiona Hudson

Penelope Green Volunteer Award The 38th woman to represent the MUWFC, Penny was a selfless contributor to the Club, a member of the Club’s first ever finals team and the captain of the inaugural 3rd team in 2003. She pulled on the black and blue in 124 games from 1998 to 2006. In addition to her lengthy playing career, Penny also fulfilled almost every voluntary position possible. She brought her intellect, critical thinking and attention to detail to every one of her roles, and had a significant impact on the Club’s foundation and sustainability. Penny was awarded a Life Membership to MUWFC in 2006 and this award was announced in 2018, for implementation in the 2019 season. Sadly, Penny passed in November 2018 after a long battle with illness. This award remembers Penny, rewards her significant contribution to the club and the legacy she left behind. 2019 Kristi Jenkins 2020 (No season - COVID-19) 2021 Jessica Aldridge 2022 Maddy Noack 2023 Caitlin Rea 2024 Isi Slavin
