Panel Theme: Celebrating trans and gender diverse participation in sport and recreation - creating and fostering the safe and welcoming spaces everyone deserves Our luncheon MC and panelists: · MC: Michelle Redfern (she/her) - Workplace Gender Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant, Lead to Soar Podcast Host, Advancing Women in Sport Research & Podcast Host, Creator of A Career that Soars! Women’s Network and a Women In Sport Advocate · Darcy Vescio (they/them) - Marquee Carlton AFLW player, 2x AFLW All Australian, 2x AFLW Leading Goal Kicker, openly non-binary athlete, gender diversity, equality, LGBT+ and multicultural advocate · Lauren Foote (she/they) - Exercise Physiologist, Education Officer for Proud2Play, former Captain of Victorian Roller Derby League (World Champions - 2017) · Carter O'Regan (he/him) - Nurse in Brain Injury Rehabilitation, trans and gender diverse rights advocate, Kew FC player (currently injured, has played for 6 years in the VAFA women's competition, before playing 1 year in the VAFA men's competition) · Sam Rose (they/them) - LGBTIQA+/Autistic Liaison for Different Journeys, Author, current player with the East Brunswick Eye Gougers, former MUWFC player Profits from the day will be going to Transgender Victoria, Victoria’s leading body for trans and gender diverse people who work to achieve justice, equity and inclusion for our communities, and our partners, families, friends, and allies. They aim to achieve better social, economic, health, wellbeing and mental health outcomes for our communities. We are partnered with Pride Cup and Proud 2 Play on this event. Proud 2 Play will be providing club education for players and staff on trans and gender diverse inclusion in the lead up to the event. This event takes place on the land of the Kulin nation; MUWFC acknowledges and respects the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians whose lands we are fortunate to train, play and for many of us, live on. We pay our respects to all Elders past and present. We take access and inclusion seriously, so if you have any specific access request, we would love to hear from you upon registration! Please note the Function Space in the Ernie Cropley Pavilion is wheelchair accessible. All bathrooms in the pavilion are all-gendered, and wheelchair accessible bathrooms are available on site.
