Celebrating 2022: Beyond Club Awards
It's been a massive year for MUWFC, with several achievements across the year being recognised at end of season and end of year celebrations outside of our Presentation Night.
Thea Wischusen: Half Blue - The University of Melbourne
The annual Blues and Sports Awards presentation recognises the accomplishments of the University’s varsity athletes both domestically and overseas. Originating at Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the mid-19th century, half and full blues are awarded to University of Melbourne athletes for high performance in intervarsity events, especially UniSport Nationals and UniSport National Championships.
Thea's performance at the Intervarsity match against Monash University in early 2022 saw her nominated for this prestigious award, and we are thrilled to see her acknowledged. Thea has been a consistent performer on field in our Reserves and Seniors VAFA sides, and is well respected by her teammates.
Terri O'Reilly & MUWFC: Award for Excellence in Inclusion - Melbourne University Sport
Volunteers and club members were recognised by Melbourne University Sport at the annual Sport and Volunteer Celebration event held last week. 13 awards were presented to individuals and clubs who have made a significant contribution to Sport at the University in areas such as Service, Performance, Inclusion, Social Justice, and Innovation.
Terri was recognised for her significant contribution to the club and broader community in 2022, including changing policies, developing programs and influencing positive cultural change to ensure that everyone can thrive through sport, regardless of one’s personal attributes. Terri and the MUWFC Advisory Committee's work is implemented consistently into club planning and actions, and is available to support other clubs on their journey:
